Carbureting Alcohol |
Is the denaturalized ethanol anhydrous (does notcontain any water). It’s obtained from the mixture of anhydrous ethanol with the denaturalizing substance in a proportion of 2% to 3% by volume. |
Ethanol |
The ethylic alcohol with chemical formula CH3-CH2-OH. It’s characterized by being a liquid, colorless, volatile, flammable and water-soluble liquid. For the purposes of the Biofuels Guideline, it’s the ethylic alcohol obtained from sugar cane, sorghum, corn, yucca, potato, rice and other agricultural crops. |
Anhydrous Alcohol |
Type of ethylic alcohol characterized for having a maximum of 0.5% humidity and for being compatible with gasolines, with which it can be mixed to produce oxygenated fuel for engine use. |
Denaturalizing Substance |
Can be a natural gasoline, gasoline component, gasoline or other substances added to anhydrous ethanol in a concentration between 2% and 3% by volume to turn it to non-potable. This prevents it from being destined to the oxygenating component of fuels for engine use. |
