With the presence of the Minister of Culture, Ulla Holmquist Pachas and the President of the Board of PETROPERU, Carlos Paredes Lanatta, the pictorial exhibition "Between the semi-ice and the semi-world" was inaugurated yesterday by Gino Ceccarelli, renowned plastic artist in the Sala Kuélap, of the Cultural Center of the Nation of the Ministry of Culture.

The exhibition is part of the activities that PETROPERU has been doing to commemorate 50 years of institutional life. In this sense, the Company invited the renowned Amazonian artist, who - with this exhibition - seeks to perpetuate in his work magical characters such as sirens, runamulas or chullachaquis; as well as revalue the Amazonian environment.

Minister Holmquist stressed that this is an "opportunity to read an area as important to us as our Amazon. A living Amazon, as it is presented -with its contradictions- by Gino's work, and we must keep it that way". Likewise, he highlighted "the always committed action of PETROPERU in the cultural field, which we have to thank and celebrate".

For his part, Carlos Paredes Lanatta, reaffirmed that "in PETROPERU we are convinced that the promotion of culture is an important tool to achieve the harmonious development of our society." In that line, he added, "we are grateful for the work of Gino as his impressive show links the elements, characters and defense of the relationship of man with his community and nature."

Meanwhile, Gino Ceccarelli thanked the support of PETROPERU and announced that in May, from Tuesday 21 to Friday 24, he will paint a live painting of 4.5 meters in the environments of the Cultural Center of the Nation. The work sessions, open to the public, will be from 10 am to 4 pm. Also, during the first week of June there will be a Round Table on the subject of Amazonian art and Lima; and subsequently, a book-catalog will be presented on the sample.

The inauguration of the exhibition "Between the semi-ice and the semi-world" - whose curatorship is in charge of Juan Peralta and Daniel Contreras - brought together prominent personalities from the Amazonian culture, such as the writer and journalist Roger Rumrill, as well as recognized representatives of art and national culture, such as Susana Baca, singer-songwriter and former Minister of Culture, and writers Marco Martos and Gustavo Rodríguez, among others. The exhibition can be visited until June 23 in the Kuélap Room of the Cultural Center of the Nation of the Ministry of Culture (Av. Javier Prado Este 2465, San Borja), from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am. at 5 p.m. Free entry.
