Petroperú alerts authorities to a seventh clandestine connection on the North Peruvian Pipeline.

Petroperú has identified a new clandestine connection on the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP) at kilometer marker 806+824, in the province of Sechura, Piura region. This act, perpetrated by criminal groups, follows six other connections detected between June and early September.

Consequently, Petroperú urges the competent authorities to strengthen the protection of the ONP, an infrastructure designated as a National Critical Asset (ACN).

Upon detecting this clandestine connection, the state-owned company activated its Emergency Response Plan, mobilizing specialized personnel and first-response teams. As a preventive measure, the manual valve located at km 792 of Section II was shut off.

An inspection of the site revealed a pipe connected to the ONP intended for crude oil extraction. It was also confirmed that there has been no environmental impact in the area.

Petroperú is coordinating with the Peruvian National Police to verify the facts and document the findings, as well as to file formal complaints and pursue appropriate legal action.

In accordance with established protocols, Petroperú will notify the relevant authorities—including Osinergmin, OEFA, and the National Intelligence Directorate (DINI)—so that they may take appropriate action within their respective jurisdictions.
