Petroperú and FISE Implement Natural Gas Service at Tacna Hospital

Within the framework of the national policy for sustainable hydrocarbon development driven by the State, natural gas service has been implemented at the Hipólito Unanue Regional Hospital of Tacna (HHUT). This makes it the first hospital institution in the southern region to incorporate this resource into its operational matrix, which will foster expenditure efficiency and environmental sustainability.

This energy infrastructure project was executed under a contract signed between the HHUT and Petroperú, with financing from the Social Energy Inclusion Fund (FISE) through its new supply promotion and BonoGas programs. This budget fully covered the civil works, the laying of external and internal piping networks, as well as the technological adaptations required for its operation within the hospital.

The implementation of this natural gas system will yield a significant reduction in the hospital's energy consumption costs. This optimization represents an economic saving of approximately 70% on the overall utility billing, freeing up financial resources that can be allocated to strengthen medical care, improve healthcare delivery conditions, and optimize hospital infrastructure.

The launch of this service aligns with the natural gas massification plan for public institutions promoted by the Ministry of Energy and Mines, which aims to expand access to a more efficient, competitive, and sustainable energy source.

With the completion of this project, Tacna effectively joins the network of public institutions moving toward more modern and viable energy management. Furthermore, it consolidates the expansion of natural gas infrastructure as a tool for social equity, optimization of public spending, energy decentralization, and improvement of quality of life.
