Through Supreme Decree No. 022-2025-EM, the Executive Branch extended Petroperú's license agreement for the exploitation of Lot Z-69, a northwestern asset that the state-owned company has operated since November 2023. This measure guarantees the continuity of operations until May 2026 or until a new agreement is reached with another operator.

The decree stipulates that Petroperú must demonstrate a minimum audited production of 3,045 barrels per day in the final month of the contract's term, as well as adjust the current royalty scheme.

The contract was signed at Perupetro's facilities and was attended by Petroperú's General Manager, José Manuel Rodríguez Haya, and Perupetro's General Manager, Carlos Pantigoso Andonaire, as well as officials from both companies.

“Expanding operations at Lot Z-69 will allow us to maintain revenue from royalties and other benefits derived from hydrocarbon activity. It will also allow us to continue production for the benefit of the Piura region and the country,” stated José Manuel Rodríguez Haya.

In this way, Petroperú reaffirms its commitment to the continued operation of Lot Z-69, the safety of its activities, and its contribution to the country's energy development.
