Petroperú Appoints Economist Roger Arévalo Ramírez as Chairman of the Board

The General Shareholders' Meeting (JGA) of Petroperú has approved the appointment of economist Roger Arévalo Ramírez as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors, a position he assumes effective immediately.

This appointment is part of actions aimed at strengthening corporate governance and the financial sustainability of the company, in line with objectives to improve management and operational performance.

Arévalo Ramírez is an economist with a Master’s degree in Finance and doctoral studies in Economics from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. He possesses an extensive professional background in the energy and mining sectors, spanning both the public and private spheres.

Throughout his career, he has held high-level positions within the State, including Vice Minister of Mines and Vice Minister of Energy, as well as advisory roles at the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Congress of the Republic. On the technical front, he served as Head of Economic Studies for the National Society of Mining, Oil, and Energy (SNMPE).

In the hydrocarbons sector, his experience as Chairman of the Board of Petroperú in 2005 stands out, as well as his role as President of the Association of Oil, Gas and Renewable Energy Companies of Latin America and the Caribbean (ARPEL). He also brings business and financial management experience from organizations linked to the mining and energy sectors.

The Board of Directors of Petroperú is completed with the appointment of Richard Almerco as an independent director, along with the continuation of members Carlos Villalobos Dulanto, Carlos Linares Peñaloza, Julio César de la Rocha Corzo, and Néstor Herrera Guerrero, the latter representing the workforce.
