Petroperú appoints engineer Luis Alberto Suárez Carlo as general manager

The Board of Directors of Petroperú appointed engineer Luis Alberto Suárez Carlo as acting general manager, effective August 15, 2026, through Board Resolution No. 087-2026-PP.

Suárez Carlo holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad de Piura, a law degree from the Universidad Tecnologica del Peru, and a Master's degree in Business Administration from ESAN University. He also has postgraduate studies in Finance and Executive Project Management.

With over 40 years of experience in the hydrocarbon industry, he has developed a solid professional career at Petroperú, where he has led strategic processes related to corporate management, business planning, resource management, and risk management.

Throughout his time with the company, he has held various high-level positions, including Corporate Manager of Administration and Corporate Manager of Planning, Management, and Risk. He has also served in various departmental management positions directly related to the operation and management of the business. His extensive experience and comprehensive knowledge of the company support his appointment to head the executive management of Petroperú, at a key stage to continue strengthening the company's financial, operational and commercial sustainability, for the benefit of the country's energy security.
