Petroperú carries out inspections and cleaning after detecting iridescence in the Negritos marine area

Upon learning of an iridescent stain near the Multibuoy Terminal PTS in Lot Z-69, in the Negritos area of Talara province, Petroperú immediately activated its facility integrity verification protocols, in accordance with current environmental and maritime regulations.

As part of these actions, a specialized underwater inspection was carried out, which did not identify any evidence to establish that the source of the event is associated with the facilities operated by the company. As a preventative measure, complementary verifications are continuing in the adjacent areas.

In accordance with its Contingency Plan, Petroperú activated its first response actions, carrying out containment and cleanup operations in the marine area, with the participation of specialized personnel and contractors. Furthermore, within the framework of its oversight functions, the Environmental Assessment and Enforcement Agency (OEFA), in coordination with the General Directorate of Captaincies and Coast Guard (DICAPI), initiated an inspection of the area, with the full cooperation of Petroperú, which is facilitating access and logistical support for the assessment work, including surveying the area and collecting water samples.

Petroperú maintains ongoing coordination with the relevant authorities and reaffirms its commitment to environmental protection and the timely response to any situation that could pose risks to the marine environment.
