Petroperu Denies Rumors of Alleged Nigerian Crude Oil Purchase

In response to inaccurate information published by a media outlet regarding an alleged intention by Petroperu to acquire crude oil from Nigeria, the company informs the public of the following:

It is false that Petroperu is currently negotiating, processing, or has decided to purchase crude oil from Nigeria. Furthermore, any procurement must strictly adhere to the procedures and conditions applicable to the company's purchasing processes. It is worth noting that Petroperu regularly receives documentation from various companies expressing interest in registering with Petroperu S.A.’s Registry of Hydrocarbons and Specialties Trading Companies, which offer crude and products available on the global market.

Crude oil acquisitions are conducted through international price bidding processes, in compliance with previously established corporate procedures. The receipt of proposals is carried out in the presence of a Notary Public and with the participation of the Compliance Management office as an observer, ensuring full transparency throughout the process. The participation of suppliers from specific regions or countries does not imply a purchase decision, as all proposals are evaluated by the competent technical areas and approved by the Import and Export Committee (COMIMEX), factoring in the operational needs of the Talara Refinery, international market conditions, and the country's energy supply security.

Additionally, any potential procurement process for crude and products is developed in coordination with ProInversión, in compliance with the protocol for the channeling and allocation of flows from the regulated operation set forth in Article 3 of Urgent Decree N° 003-2026.

The economic conditions for crude oil acquisition respond strictly to international market behavior and the commercial and financial terms in force for each transaction. They do not stem from deficiencies in technical supply processes nor from inadequate operational planning at the Talara Refinery, which possesses the technical capacity to efficiently process a wide variety of crudes available in both the domestic and international markets.

Petroperu reaffirms that its supply processes are carried out under strict criteria of transparency, control, and technical evaluation, guaranteeing the continuity of fuel supply for the benefit of the nation. We regret that inaccurate and unfounded information has been utilized, which deprives the publication of any veracity.
