Petroperú reports on its operational capacity for fuel supply.

Petroperú is making progress in the gradual recovery of its operational capabilities through actions aimed at strengthening its key production units and ensuring the country's fuel supply; company executives stated this during their address to the Energy and Mines Commission of the House of Representatives of the Congress of the Republic.
Petroperú’s Chairman of the Board, Oliver Stark, noted that the current management's work plan involves three main milestones. The first is securing liquidity for the company—an area where progress is already being made, such as the US$475 million bridge loan finalized in September by ProInversión under Emergency Decree (ED) 010-2026.
This factor is crucial for ensuring greater crude oil availability and progressively increasing throughput at refineries such as Talara and Iquitos, which are currently operational and help guarantee fuel supplies across the country.
The second milestone is addressing key operational challenges. In this regard, it was reported that the Flexicoking (FCK) unit has completed its first general inspection and, as of September 27, has been undergoing startup procedures—part of the process leading up to full operation. This paves the way for a projected processing volume of over 80,000 barrels of crude oil per day at the New Talara Refinery by the end of the year.
Additionally, work is underway on projects related to fuel desulfurization and improving the efficiency of auxiliary units at the New Talara Refinery.
Finally, Stark highlighted that the third milestone is modernizing the organizational structure using a matrix model. This approach aims to foster more efficient, coordinated management tailored to the company's current needs. In this context, he noted that the long-term vision is to establish Petroperú as a solid, sustainable, and profitable company capable of generating the results needed to meet its financial obligations.
Petroperú present in the Amazon
The resumption of Petroperú’s operations also has a direct impact on fuel supplies for the Amazon region—particularly Loreto—where the company plays a strategic role due to the region's geographical and logistical conditions. As part of these improvements, the Iquitos Refinery has increased its operating days, helping to strengthen the State's presence and ensure energy security.
Thus, the progress made in its key operational units and resource management enables Petroperú to continue bolstering its supply capacity and nationwide presence, in line with its strategic role and the ongoing corporate reorganization process.
