Petroperú Restores Operations for Crude Oil Supply to Iquitos Refinery

Petroperú Restores Operations for Crude Oil Supply to Iquitos Refinery

Petroperú reports that the blockade at the pontoon area of Station 1 of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), initiated by the Saramurillo native community, has been lifted. Consequently, loading and unloading operations of crude oil for the Iquitos Refinery supply are now proceeding normally.

As previously reported, the protest by the Saramurillo community stemmed from an incident on March 7 during the loading of crude oil by the company Upland onto a Brazilian barge.

This outcome was made possible through responsible and sustained dialogue between the involved parties, leading to agreements that allowed for the restart of activities in the area.

The company will continue to promote spaces for coordination and mutual understanding to ensure that its operations develop under conditions of respect and collaboration with its stakeholders.

Petroperú reaffirms its commitment to guaranteeing the timely supply of fuel throughout the country, fulfilling its strategic role in service to all Peruvians.
