Petroperú steps up efforts to maintain fuel supplies in Loreto.

In light of reports circulating regarding supply, the fuel supply for electricity generation, and fuel prices in the Loreto region, the following is clarified:

1. Petroperú is implementing logistical measures to maintain the supply of 84-octane and regular gasoline, despite navigation restrictions caused by the sharp drop in water levels in Amazonian rivers. Given these conditions, which are affecting the movement of various vessels, the Ministry of Energy and Mines issued Directorial Resolution No. 146-2026-MINEM/DGH. This resolution establishes temporary measures waiving the requirement to maintain average and minimum fuel inventory levels, thereby facilitating supply in the Loreto region.
2. In response to these conditions, the company is carrying out operational measures to bolster the fuel supply in Iquitos. Currently, a convoy carrying 15,000 barrels of gasoline is en route via the Huallaga River to the Iquitos Refinery, with an expected arrival date of September 18, 2026. Meanwhile, efforts continue to restore the mobility of another vessel—carrying 12,000 barrels of gasoline—that has been stalled since September 11, 2026, due to low water levels in the Huallaga River.
3. Furthermore, there are no issues regarding the fuel supply for electricity generation in Iquitos. Demand from power generation companies is being met normally and is guaranteed, as sufficient crude oil is available to meet their requirements without disruption.
4. Regarding prices, as previously stated, Petroperú clarifies that these are primarily driven by fluctuations in international fuel market prices and by cost components associated with supply and commercialization. Therefore, the price variations observed in Loreto are not the result of discretionary decisions by the company, nor are they attributable to management inefficiencies.

Petroperú will continue to take the necessary measures to contribute to the regular and safe supply of fuel in Loreto, and calls upon the public and stakeholders in the supply chain to seek information from official sources and avoid speculation that could cause unnecessary concern.
