Petroperu Warns of Fake Video of Board President Created with Artificial Intelligence

The purpose of this video is to defraud citizens by utilizing footage from a public interview given in 2025 by Edmundo Lizarzaburu Bolaños, when he was consulted in his capacity as an ESAN researcher. His voice and likeness have been intentionally manipulated through artificial intelligence tools to attribute statements to him that he never made as President of the Board of Directors of Petroperu, which furthermore falsely invite individuals to make non-existent investments.

Petroperu clarifies that no initiative called "PetroBienestar" exists, nor has the company announced or implemented any investment, profitability, or fundraising program directed at the public. The company does not request deposits, bank transfers, activation fees, or the registration of personal data through links shared on social networks.

Official information from Petroperu is communicated exclusively through its corporate website and verified official social media accounts. Therefore, citizens are strongly urged not to click on the shared link, not to provide personal information, and not to make any payments associated with this fraudulent publication.

Petroperu will file a formal complaint with the prosecutor's office, as well as with the cybercrime division of the National Police of Peru (Policía Nacional del Perú – PNP), in order to identify the author or authors of this publication, which harms the image of the company and its highest authority, and seeks to defraud Peruvian citizens
