Petroperu Wins First Place in Regional Archival Management Competition

As part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Regional Archive of Piura, Petroperu was awarded first place in the competition "Recognition for the Best Archival Work in Public and Parastatal Archives of the Piura Region," covering the period from January 2025 to May 2026.

This distinction recognizes the company's efforts to strengthen document management through the modernization of the Talara Refinery Central Archive, infrastructure upgrades, the organization and preservation of records, and the provision of timely access to information in support of corporate management.

The evaluation process included a comprehensive review of the evidence submitted by the participating entities, as well as an on-site verification conducted by specialists from the Regional Archive of Piura. As a result, Petroperu secured first place, followed by the Superior Court of Justice of Piura and the Provincial Municipality of Piura.

One of the key aspects highly valued by the panel was the digital transformation process driven by the implementation of the ACONEX (Oracle) system. This platform centralizes, manages, and preserves the technical and administrative documentation of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project within a secure digital environment. Its deployment has enabled the progressive migration from physical to electronic archives, the automation of document workflows, the optimization of information retrieval, enhanced document preservation, and has laid the groundwork for the future implementation of electronic records.

Currently, the Talara Refinery Central Archive safeguards 8,472 document boxes, equivalent to 4,236 linear meters of information. More than 60% of this volume is already inventoried and organized, reflecting the company’s sustained progress in the management and preservation of its institutional records.

This recognition reaffirms Petroperu's commitment to excellence in document management, the preservation of its corporate memory, and the continuous improvement of its processes, thereby contributing to a more efficient and transparent management model aligned with the standards of the National Archival System (Sistema Nacional de Archivos).
