Power supply interruption affects operations at Talara Refinery

In light of reports circulating in some media outlets regarding emissions from the Talara Refinery, Petroperú clarifies the following:
-
This afternoon, Sunday, November 1, an incident within the National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN) led to the disconnection of the L-5008 transmission line between Chimbote and Trujillo. This caused an interruption in the power supply in the northern part of the country, which affected the operations of the process and auxiliary units at the Talara Refinery.
-
In response, the relevant operational and safety procedures were activated, successfully stabilizing the refinery complex and ensuring that its facilities remained in a safe, operational state.
-
The company’s specialized personnel are continuing to address the incident, conducting the necessary assessments and coordination to safely resume fuel production.
