Talara refinery will receive one million barrels of oriental crude oil acquired from Ecuador

Petroperú successfully completed the unloading of one million barrels of eastern crude acquired in the neighboring country of Ecuador, carried out at the Bayóvar Port Terminal, the main seaport in the north of the country, whose final destination is the New Talara Refinery (NRT). This operation marks a milestone in the hydrocarbon industry, highlighting the strategic role of the company for the supply of fuels throughout the country.
The Ecuadorian crude arrived in the country on the tanker Lord Byron 21, transporting the cargo that was safely transferred to the storage tanks of the Bayóvar Terminal. The unloading was carried out in approximately 105 continuous hours, using the four loading arms of the dock, which are in optimal condition after the Maintenance Master Plan executed by Petroperú to ensure efficiency and safety in all its operations.
The Bayóvar Terminal has world-class infrastructure, highlighting a pier designed to receive tankers of up to 1.5 million barrels, with a shipping capacity of up to 100,000 barrels per hour. In addition, it has a beach with 14 tanks with a total storage capacity of 1,792 MB.
The international certifications of the Bayóvar Port Terminal allow it to be an active part of the national and international marketing system of liquid hydrocarbons, operating in import, export and distribution through cabotage vessels.
With this operation, Petroperú ensures the continuous supply of the national market, optimizes the processing of the NRT and reaffirms its strategic role as a key state company for the country's energy security.
