The natural gas supply from the distribution system of the Southwest concession was declared in an emergency

Intense rains in the southern region have caused mudslides that are blocking several sections of the Pan-American Highway South, affecting the transit of tanker trucks transporting Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to Arequipa, Moquegua, and Tacna. Therefore, the following measures have been implemented to guarantee the continuity of the public natural gas service:

  1. The Ministry of Energy and Mines declared a state of emergency for the natural gas supply of the Southwest Concession Distribution System, effective from February 22nd until traffic is restored on the affected road.
  2. Petroperú is taking all necessary actions to maintain service continuity for consumers, prioritizing supply to residential and commercial users as it is a public service. Industrial customers may experience service reductions while the supply is being restored.
  3. Petroperú reaffirms its commitment to the country's energy security and is in constant coordination with the relevant authorities to normalize LNG transportation and distribution in the Southwest Concession.
