Winners of the 2019 Copé Award

- Alejandro Neyra Sánchez won the Copé Gold Award at the VII Biennial of Novel.
- Johnny Barbieri Camposano won the Copé Gold Award at the XIX Biennial of Poetry.
- The winners will be awarded on December 4 at PETROPERU.
Winners of the 2019 Copé Award

PETROPERU announced today the winners of the VII Biennial of Novel and XIX Biennial of Poetry of the 2019 Copé Award. In the novel category, the writer Alejandro Neyra Sánchez was the winner of the Gold Cup with the work “My sacred monster”.

Additionally, the works "El tiempo ausente", by Crisanto Pérez Esaín and "Hombre de paja", by Max Daniel Crespo Loayza were recognized as Honorable Mentions.

The jury in this category was composed by Karina Pacheco Medrano, Antonio González Montes, Yolanda Westphalen Rodríguez, Alonso Cueto Caballero and Ricardo González Vigil.

In the poetry category, the winners were Johnny Barbieri Camposano, with the work “Expediente vallejo”; James Ricardo Quiroz Biminchumo, for “En los bosques de infinita música” and Luz Karen Vila Solier, for “Las primera estaciones”.

In this category, the jury was composed of Mario Montalbetti Solari, Marco Martos, Marcel Velázquez Castro, Giovanna Pollarolo, Pedro Cateriano Delgado.

The VII Biennial of Novel and the XIX Biennial of Poetry "2019 Copé Award" opened its call in December 2018, culminating the date of receipt of works on August 9. According to the contest rules, the novel and winning poems will be published. Winners will receive, in addition to the cash prize, a trophy and a diploma.

The 40th edition of the Copé Award, one of the most important literary competitions in the country, will be held on Wednesday, December 4 at the main headquarters of PETROPERU, date in which the call for the 2020 Copé Award for the story and essay categories will also be launched.

It should be noted that the prize for the winner in the Novel category is 45 thousand soles, and 35 thousand soles for the winner in the Poetry category of the Copé Gold; 25 thousand soles for the Copé Silver and 15 thousand soles for the Copé Bronze.
