Petroperú is recognized for its permanent commitment to children

Petroperú was recognized as a socially responsible company, taking into account the support for the development of programs and activities in favor of children, pregnant women and their families.

This is because in 2022, thanks to one of these projects, it was possible to improve the living conditions of more than 1,500 families, both in Villa El Salvador, very close to the Conchán Refinery, south of Lima and Talara, in Piura. This is done through home visits, phone calls and sending text messages related to health, nutrition and parenting practices, favoring the development of the baby.

Parallel to this, Petroperú delivered -to each pregnant woman- kits containing disposable diapers, gel alcohol and wet wipes, as well as informative material. In turn, children under one year old received various toys -such as plasticine building blocks, crayons and balls, among others- seeking to optimize their motor skills. For their part, the mothers of the family had training sessions on the prevention of Covid-19 and talks on parenting, food and nutrition.

The recognition was in charge of the Baltazar y Nicolás Foundation, a non-profit organization that promotes the bond between parents and their children. The representatives of the Sustainable Development and Community Relations departments received the award.

It should be noted that the Petroperú project is still in force in the areas of influence of its Talara Refinery and Conchán Refinery operations and has the support and mobilization of the local government, grassroots organizations and health establishments, seeking to sensitize the community on issues that promote the comprehensive development of families.

It is appropriate to specify that the program has been meeting the goal of serving 1,140 families; offering accompaniment to more than 300 families in Villa El Salvador and close to 800 in Talara, exceeding the goal of number of beneficiaries.
