Storybook winners and finalists of the Copé Story Award 2022 are present at the FIL

"Días de prueba esperando a Paradise y los cuentos ganadores y finalistas del Premio Copé 2022" will be presented on Thursday, August 3 at 5 pm in the José María Arguedas Hall of the Lima International Book Fair 2023 (Próceres de la Independencia Park in Jesús María). The researcher Rocío Quespi comments along with the winners of the contest, the writers David del Águila, Christian Elguera and Reynaldo Santa Cruz.

Part of the work is framed in a critical approach to the Anthropocene and questions the role of human beings in the ecosystem. It is a speculative fiction that uses the Amazon world as a scenario, which opens the possibility of imagining the future. The fragmentary composition in the form of a diary allows us as readers to fill the gap between each scene. At the narrative level, a reality is settling that leads to an unexpected resolution.

"Días de prueba esperando a Paradise" brings together the seventeen short stories selected in the 2022 Copé Story Awared literary contest and presents the most representative of Peruvian writing throughout the country. Texts by writers David Orlando Del Águila, Christian Elguera, Reynaldo Santa Cruz, Gerardo Figueroa, Luis Augusto, Rossana Sala, Luis Freire Sarria, Bryan Balvin, Sophia Gómez, Jhemy Tineo, Pablo Chacón, Javier Mariscal, Alan Luna, Oswaldo Carbonel, Regina Limo and Rosa Salazar participate. The book has a foreword by the teacher and writer Carla Sagástegui.

This work is also available to the public for free reading in the Petroperú Virtual Library. Likewise, the work is included in the Copé book distribution program that Petroperú implements during this year in libraries nationwide.

Renowned authors such as Washington Delgado, Julio Ortega, Oscar Colchado, Cronwell Jara, Fernando Iwasaki, Luis Nieto Degregori, Gregorio Martínez, Pedro Ugarte, Miguel Ruiz Effio, among others, have won the Copé Story  Award and have outlined the physiognomy of Peruvian literature in recent decades.

The Copé Award is a literary contest organized by Petroperú since 1979. It is recognized as the highest award for Peruvian literature; in addition to being noted for its constant promotion, decentralization of calls and dissemination of literature and research in general. This work is another expression of Petroperú corporate social responsibility as part of its commitment to the development of culture and the promotion of literary creation in Peru.
