Petroperú Appoints Edmundo Lizarzaburu Bolaños as Chairman of the Board

The General Shareholders' Meeting (JGA) of Petroperú has approved the appointment of Edmundo Lizarzaburu Bolaños as Chairman of the Board of Directors, a position he assumes effective immediately in his capacity as an independent director.

This decision is part of the actions aimed at strengthening corporate governance and supporting the company's financial and operational restructuring process, in line with objectives for financial sustainability and management improvement.

Lizarzaburu Bolaños is an industrial engineer with a Global MBA and a PhD in Management (Cum Laude) from the Carlos III University of Madrid. He is also a PhD candidate in Economics at the University of Valladolid.

He possesses over 24 years of experience in strategic management, finance, risk management, compliance, and corporate governance, with a proven track record in sectors such as energy, hydrocarbons, banking, retail, and international organizations.

He has conducted consultancies for entities including the Government of Canada, the World Bank, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Banco de la Nación, and InRetail, leading the implementation of prevention models, transparency frameworks, financial policies, and risk management systems aligned with international standards.

Furthermore, he has been recognized by Leaders League as one of the leading experts in compliance and forensic auditing in Peru and serves as a professor and RENACYT researcher at ESAN University.

It should be noted that Lizarzaburu Bolaños previously served as a director of Petroperú between October 2022 and March 2023.
