Petroperú conducted a fire drill at the Catalytic Cracking Unit reactor at the Talara Refinery as part of its ongoing commitment to industrial safety and emergency preparedness.
The exercise aimed to verify the immediate response of personnel to critical situations, as well as to evaluate compliance with protocols and the effectiveness of the emergency system implemented at the refining complex.
The drill began with the detection and reporting of the incident, followed by the activation of the alarm, evacuation of the area, and deployment of specialized brigades. Everything was carried out in accordance with the refinery's Emergency Response Plan, in compliance with Supreme Decree No. 003-2023-EM.
The exercise was supervised by the Chairman of the Board, Alejandro Narváez Liceras, who, along with members of the Command Post, monitored the exercise. He highlighted the coordinated work of the brigades, especially the firefighters, who activated the firefighting system to control the suspected event.
These drills reinforce the culture of prevention and risk management at Petroperú, allowing us to continue implementing the Process Safety Management System, ensuring the ongoing training of personnel to protect life, the environment, and the operational continuity of the Talara Refinery.
