Petroperú opens call to a new edition of the Copé Awards

Petroperú opened its call for the XXIII Story Biennial and IX Essay Biennial “2024 Copé Award”, in which Peruvians residing in Peru and abroad can participate, in a new event that seeks to recognize the best of literary creation in our country.

To participate, interested parties must present their work, unpublished, in PDF format and with a pseudonym, submitting it online on the contest website.

In this space you will be able to find the bases of the contests called, the registration form and all the information related to the literary contest in the short story and essay categories. The call for the competition closes on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

On this occasion, the qualifying jury for each category will be made up of a representative of the Peruvian Academy of Language; from the Ministry of Culture; from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos; from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru and the House of Peruvian Literature.

It should be noted that the winning works are published under the Ediciones Copé seal and will be distributed to public and private libraries nationwide, as part of the work of the state oil company in its library implementation and reading promotion program.

The results of the contest will be announced in December 2024.

The Copé Award is a literary contest organized and promoted by Petroperú since 1979, becoming the most important literary awards in the country. This 2024 marks 45 years of constant promotion and dissemination of Peruvian literature throughout the country. All of this is another expression of the corporate social responsibility of the State oil company and its permanent commitment to the development of culture and education in Peru.
