As part of its commitment to culture and the promotion of national literature, Petroperú officially presented the winning works of the Copé Award, corresponding to the 21st Poetry Biennial and the 9th Novel Biennial, in a ceremony held at the Petroperú Cultural Center.

During the event, five new publications from Ediciones Copé were unveiled: the poetry collections honored with the Copé Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards; an anthology featuring honorable mentions and finalist texts; and the winning novel of the Copé Gold award. The works were discussed by renowned literary critic Ricardo González Vigil and were attended by their authors, who shared excerpts from their works and signed copies for the public.

In his remarks, Petroperú's general manager, Oscar Vera, highlighted the value of culture as a pillar of development and reaffirmed the institutional commitment to the country's literary creativity. “Today we reaffirm our commitment to literature, culture, and human creativity by presenting the winning works of Peru's most important and long-standing literary competition,” he stated.

Since its creation in 1979, the Copé Award has attracted more than 40,000 participants, organized 60 competitions, and recognized 146 writers in the short story, poetry, novel, and essay categories. “Culture is a priority for Petroperú and has the same relevance as any of our operational activities,” Vera emphasized.

During his speech, he also highlighted the participation of partner institutions, such as the Ministry of Culture, the National University of San Marcos, the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, the Peruvian Academy of Language, and, more recently, the House of Peruvian Literature, which support Petroperú in consolidating the Copé Prize as a fundamental platform for the promotion and dissemination of Peruvian literature.

The publications are now available for free reading through Petroperú's Virtual Library.

They will also be distributed nationwide as part of the company's library implementation program.

With this contest, Petroperú reaffirms its Cultural Policy aimed at promoting, supporting, and strengthening intercultural citizenship, literary creativity, and cultural management, even in challenging contexts, as part of its social commitment to the country's sustainable and inclusive development.
