Petroperú promotes education in the south with school supplies and libraries

As part of its Social Management Policy and Community Relations Plan 2025, Petroperú carried out a significant educational support program in the south of the country, which included the distribution of 2,200 packs of school supplies and the inauguration of eight school libraries in institutions located in areas close to its operations. The initiative seeks to strengthen the education of children and adolescents in vulnerable situations, promoting better learning conditions from the pre-school, primary, and secondary levels.

During the ceremonies held at each educational institution, principals and teachers expressed their gratitude for the state-owned company's ongoing support and highlighted the positive impact these initiatives have on their school communities. They also emphasized the importance of continuing these types of initiatives, which directly contribute to student well-being.

The benefited educational institutions are: 2nd Sgt. Lázaro Orrego Morales FAP in Pisco; Mercedes Cabello de Carbonera and Daniel Becerra in Ilo; José Carlos Mariátegui, Daniel Alcides Carrión, and the Kronung von María Inmaculada children's shelter in Mollendo; and Alejandro Velasco Astete in Cusco.

This delivery was complemented by the implementation of eight school libraries in three priority schools in Mollendo and Cusco, as part of the promotion of the 2025 Reading Plan. The reading spaces were set up by the schools themselves, and their collection was enriched with books donated by parents, in a collaborative effort that seeks to encourage reading habits and strengthen educational skills in the areas in greatest need.

In Villa El Salvador

Similarly, the company implemented six school libraries in public schools in the Lima district of Villa El Salvador, where it also provided school supplies and insulated lunchboxes, promoting students' comprehensive well-being and more equitable access to education.

With these actions, Petroperú consolidates its role as an ally of social development in the regions where it operates, focusing on education as a fundamental pillar for generating opportunities and building a more equitable future for thousands of Peruvian students.
