Petroperú urges national authorities to take swift and coordinated action to restore order in the Manseriche district of Loreto

Petroperú reports that protesters have illegally occupied Station 5 of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), where they have carried out acts against the law, endangering their lives, the lives of workers, and the residents of the Félix Flores hamlet, located just a few meters from this critical national asset.
The company requests that the Central and Regional Government authorities take immediate action to address the residents' demands and restore order in the district of Manseriche, Datem del Marañón province, Loreto region.
This situation arose on March 17, when a group of teachers began protests in San Lorenzo, the provincial capital, demanding that the Loreto Regional Government address the demands of the education sector and warning of possible takeovers of public entities if their demands were not met. On April 15, approximately 400 people violently entered the facility, carrying spears, demonstrating that their protests seek to demand the creation of a bilingual UGEL (University of El Salvador) and a multicultural university in the area.
Petroperú reaffirms its commitment to respect for the law, dialogue, and the sustainable development of its operations, categorically rejecting any act that puts people's lives and the security of the country's strategic facilities at risk.
