President of Petroperú was recognized as an outstanding personality in 2025 by the UNMSM

As part of its 474th anniversary celebrations, the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) honored the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petroperú, Alejandro Narváez Liceras, as one of the 2025 Outstanding Personalities, in recognition of his professional career and his contribution to the country's economic and social development while leading Petroperú.

The ceremony took place in the historic Nuestra Señora de Loreto Chapel of the San Marcos Cultural Center and was attended by academic authorities, government representatives, and representatives from the business sector.

During her speech, UNMSM Rector Jeri Ramón Ruffner stated that this distinction symbolizes the university's social commitment. "San Marcos is not poor; it is rich because of its history, its talent, and its heritage," she emphasized, adding that paying tribute to outstanding figures is a way of reciprocating their contributions to the country.

After receiving the award, Narváez Liceras expressed his gratitude for the recognition from the oldest university in the Americas. “All I've done is work with decency and professionalism since I left my hometown,” he said.

He also highlighted the fundamental role that public universities must play in the country's development: “San Marcos must be the torch that guides Peru's path toward economic and social development. I am convinced that without a powerful, modern, visionary university with a sense of national identity, there is no development,” Narváez Liceras emphasized.

This recognition adds to the institutional support for the leadership exercised by the Chairman of the Board of Petroperú, focused on a management committed to sustainability, efficiency, and service to the country.
