Rita López Saavedra remains at the head of the General Management of Petroperú

MEF, Minem, ProInversión, the Board of Directors and the General Management continue to work in a coordinated manner to face the challenge of recovering the sustainability of the company.

Chemical engineer Rita Lorena López Saavedra continues to serve as General Manager of Petroperú, within the framework of the comprehensive reorganization process aimed at strengthening management and restoring the operational and financial sustainability of the state-owned company.

In this context, efforts are underway to strengthen the management team, with the goal of ensuring leadership aligned with the priorities of the reorganization process. To this end, coordination is being carried out with the National Fund for Financing State Business Activity (Fonafe) to adapt the applicable regulations, in order to optimize appointment processes and allow, where appropriate, the incorporation of external professionals based on technical and meritocratic criteria.

Along the same lines, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversión), the Board of Directors, and the General Management will continue working together on the significant challenge of making Petroperú a sustainable company once again, a source of pride for all Peruvians. As you may recall, López Saavedra assumed the General Management of Petroperú on January 8th, at the request of the Board of Directors. She holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the National University of San Marcos and a Master's degree in Administration, specializing in Finance, from ESAN. She has over twenty years of experience with the company, as a career employee at Petroperú, distinguished by her expertise in strategic management, planning, and economic-financial analysis.
